Covid-19: Ahead of dry run, Harsh Vardhan briefs health ministers in India
In the light of coronavirus vaccine rollout, another mock drill will take place on January 8 across all States and Union Territories, the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan reiterated on Thursday.
While Uttar Pradesh has already conducted the dry run in all districts on January 5, Haryana is scheduled to organise the same on January 7.
The Health Minister also stated that around 1.7 lakh vaccinators and three lakh vaccination team members have been trained to administer the coronavirus vaccine.
Veteran BJP leader and Chandini Chowk MP, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, has announced his departure from active politics following alleged denial of a ticket for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His decision came in response to the Delhi BJP's declaration of candidates for five constituencies, including Praveen Khandelwal in Chandni Chowk, on Saturday. Dr. Vardhan, with a distinguished political career spanning five-time MLA and two-time MP from the constituency, has previously served as Union Minister of Health and Union Environment Minister. NBC reports that police departments in the United States
have seen their first increase in ranks, changing course
on a historic exodus of officers in recent years.
According to a recent survey,
2023 saw more officers sworn in
than any of the previous four years. .
At the same time, the survey by the Police Executive
Research Forum (PERF) also found that fewer law
enforcement officers resigned or retired in 2023. .

NBC reports that declining numbers left
many police departments with a shortage of
officers, which resulted in slower response times.
Chuck Wexler, executive director of PERF, warns that many police departments are still struggling to recruit and retain officers.
According to Wexler, law enforcement , "isn't out of the woods yet.".
At least a dozen smaller police departments in
the nation have been forced to disband, leaving those
municipalities reliant upon state or county police forces.
