Proud of Indian diaspora who worked to forward country's culture: Prez Kovind
On January 09, President Ram Nath Kovind and Union External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended 16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas convention via video conferencing.
President Kovind said, "It gives me pleasure to connect with you at valedictory session of this event.
I am very proud of Indian diaspora members who have worked to forward Indian culture and establish links between India and their adopted countries."
India considers "One Nation, One Election," where all major elections happen simultaneously. A committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted a detailed report on the idea to President Droupadi Murmu. They propose the first synchronised elections in 2029, aiming to simplify the process and boost voter confidence. It's a significant step towards strengthening democracy and governance across the country.
