New industrial package to boost JandK's economic growth

The Jammu and Kashmir government announced the new industrial package of Rs 28,000 crore which will boost economic growth in the Union Territory.

The new industrial package was welcomed by industrialists of JandK's Kathua district.

They have considered it as an economic reform in JandK.

The new package will also open the doors of employment for the unemployed youth.

The industrial sector was facing financial crisis amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Activists of Dogra Front on January 20 staged protest against the web series 'Tandav' in Jammu and Kashmir's Dogra. 'Tandav', an Amazon Prime Video-based series addressed the backlash against its content that has hurt religious sentiments of many viewers. Muslim people also showed their anguish against the web series by showing placards. The protestors alleged that the creators of the web series have tried to disrupt the communal harmony in the country. Earlier in the day, Maharashtra Government has received a complaint regarding 'Tandav' and will be taking appropriate action against the web series. Earlier on Monday, the cast and crew of the Saif Ali Khan starrer political-drama had extended their apologies to the viewers for "unintentionally" hurting their sentiments. An FIR was also registered at Lucknow's Hazratganj Kotwali against Amazon Prime's India and team of 'tandav' for allegedly hurting religious sentiments on Monday.

25-year-old and first girl from Srinagar, who is reviving the centuries old cultural and traditional folk art known as "Ladishah" in local language. Syed Areej Safvi writes and performs Ladishah, a form of satire in verse. Safvi makes commentaries on social and political conditions in the society. Syed Areej Safvi is preserving the art and trying to attract people to it. Ladishah is performed by men but now this girl is writing and performing the art, which makes her the first girl from Kashmir to perform the male dominated art. It is a type of folk ballad with humor forming an essential part of its presentation. In earlier days, Ladishah was performed in villages and towns to highlight the social issues. But due to the modernization, social media and other things have lost the glory of a number of cultural and traditional things and Ladishah is one of them. Areej also bagged an award at Khatoon-e-Kashmir award 2021 in the art, culture and entrepreneurship category. Youth of the Kashmir are excelling in every field and are making the Union Territory and the nation proud.

Border Security Force detected a tunnel along the International border in Kathua's Hiranagar sector. The detected tunnel was approximately 150 meter long. BSF personnel considered it as a deliberate attempt by Pakistan to push in terrorists into India. BSF, IG NS Jamwal said, "The tunnel detected along IB in Hiranagar sector of Kathua is approx 150 meter long, proper engineering effort has gone into construction of this tunnel. This is a deliberate effort of Pak to push in terrorists into India. It seems that it hasn't been used recently."
