A day before the floor test in Puducherry Assembly, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy held a meeting with Congress and DMK MLAs to discuss the strategy ahead. Briefing the reporters, Narayanasamy said, "I held a meeting with ministers, MLAs of Congress and DMK, MPs and other party leaders today. We discussed the strategy to be adopted in the Legislative Assembly. We have decided to disclose our strategy on the floor of the House." On Feb 21, Congress MLA K Lakshmi Narayanan and DMK MLA K Venkatesan tendered their resignation from the Assembly Speaker VP Sivakolundhu. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on January 20 said that a complaint has been received regarding web series 'Tandav'. Action will be taken as per the law, he said. "Central government should bring legislation in regard to OTT (over-the-top) platforms," he said. BJP leader Ram Kadam and other leaders alleged that the web series 'Tandav' has some inappropriate scenes of Hindu gods which are hurting religious sentiments. Recently, the creators of 'Tandav' apologized for unintentionally hurting people's sentiments.

After director Ali Abbas Zafar tweeted an apology note over the 'Tandav' outrage, BJP leader Ram Kadam called it a "big win", but said they will not stop until the cast and crew are behind the bars. "For last 6 hours, we were protesting outside Mumbai-situated Amazon office over the web-series 'Tandav' and we compelled them to apologise...This is our big win. And at last due to our pressure, 'Tandav' team had to apologise in front of whole country. But only apology won't work. We will protest until the whole team of 'Tandav' gets in jail...We'll go on hunger strike in front of Ghatkopar police station tomorrow morning and will compel them to file the FIR," said Ram Kadam. 'Metro Man' E Sreedharan formally joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala's Malappuram on February 25. He joined BJP in a public meeting at Changaramkulam town in Ponnani taluk of Malappuram district. E Sreedharan joined the party in presence of Union Minister of State (MoS-I/C) in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, RK Singh. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee protested against the fuel price hike in a unique style. On Thursday, Banerjee commuted to and from state secretariat Nabanna on an electric scooter. On the way to Nabanna in the morning, the CM was seen riding pillion on a battery-powered e-scooter. While in the afternoon, Banerjee took the driver's seat on the way to her residence in Kalighat. While Banerjee rode the scooter at a slow speed, some security personnel followed her on foot. "Today, we silently protested against the hike in petrol, diesel and LPG prices. I rode a pillion on an electric scooter on my way to the Secretariat. The battery-powered electric scooter was driven by minister Firhad (Bobby) Hakim. While returning, I myself rode the e-scooter. Even though this was my first attempt, riding the e-scooter seemed easy. I will ride it again and become an efficient rider. I thank each and everyone for their support," Banerjee said. The TMC supremo is not missing any opportunity to score over her main rival BJP. Elections to the 294-member West Bengal assembly are due in April-May this year.

Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Wednesday participated in "Kshama Puja" and administered the inauguration of the new 'Jalahari' at Pashupatinath Temple. President Bhandari reached the revered Hindu holy site in the late afternoon and performed the special worship for atonement and administered the inauguration of the new 'Jalahari', the base of Shiva Linga inside the temple. Thirty-three Brahmins from India have come for worship before placing the golden 'Jalahari' in the main Shivalinga of the Pashupatinath Temple. They have been worshiping for few days. A total of 121 priests of Bhagwat Ashram and Pashupati are performing pooja. The decision of the government to replace the base of the Shiva Linga with a gold filling came into controversy as historians claimed that it is against historical and religious values. Many activists protested the plan to replace the ancient silver base with gold. Two writ petitions were also filed in the Supreme Court on Monday against the government's decision to install golden Jalahari at the Pashupatinath Temple.

A car carrying unassembled explosive materials was found abandoned at Carmichael Road in South Mumbai on Thursday evening, near the house of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani. Bomb squad and police teams have rushed to the site and a probe is underway. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, "A car carrying Gelatin has been found near Mukesh Ambani's residence in Mumbai today. Mumbai Police Crime Branch is investigating the whole matter." According to Mumbai Police, the vehicle was examined by a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and gelatin, a substance often used to make explosives was recovered from it. Further investigation is underway.
