3ft Man To Become World's Smallest Doctor | BORN DIFFERENT

AT JUST 3ft tall and weighing only 15kg, Ganesh Baraiya is set to become the world’s shortest doctor.

It wasn’t until Ganesh was five years old that his parents realised he had a growth problem.

His family searched for an answer as to what was causing his stunted growth, but no diagnosis was ever made.

His height has meant that he has had to rely upon his family to help him with everyday tasks, but Ganesh proved his worth by studying hard and getting into Bhavnagar Government Medical College.

However, his route to success was far from straightforward.

The son of a farmer in Gujarat, India and the first of his family to attend Medical College, Ganesh was initially denied the right to study medicine.

This was on the grounds that becoming a doctor would have been too arduous given his height and Ganesh wouldn’t have been able to deal with medical emergencies.

Ganesh and his family challenged the decision in the High Court, but the petition was rejected.

Undeterred, Ganesh and his family appealed that decision in the Supreme Court, who finally ordered Ganesh’s admission.

Ganesh, who has now completed his first year at Medical school, hopes upon graduating to treat people who cannot afford medicine.
