The restoration work of Seto Macchindranath Temple, one of the 28 heritage sites which will be reconstructed with the help of India's assistance, has begun on Sunday in Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra along with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) Sushil Gyawali and Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidya Sundar Shakya jointly carried out 'Bhoomi Pooja' for the restoration of Seto Machindranath temple. The conservation work of Seto Machindranath temple is the first of the 28 cultural heritage conservation and restoration projects being undertaken by the Indian government. New Delhi has committed a sum of 580 crores for cultural heritage sector. All the 28 sites were identified by Nepal Government and both India and Nepal signed Memorandums of Understandings (MoUs) in August 2017. The Seto Machindranath Temple will be conserved as per Nepal's Ancient Monument Preservation Act, and the Department of Archaeology's Basic Guidelines and Manual for conservation and reconstruction of heritage affected by the 2015 earthquake using material close to the original building material at the time of its construction as per the traditional ethos, local traditions, and values that sustain and enriches such living heritage sites in Nepal. The temple located in the heart of Kathmandu city is visited by Hindus and Buddhist devotees to worship Seto Machindranath are considered to be one of the Protectors of the Kathmandu Valley.
Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh assumed office of Command of the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) at Eastern Naval Command headquarters in Visakhapatnam. He took charge as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (FOC-in-C) of Eastern Naval Command from Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain. New ENC was honoured with a ceremonial parade at the Naval Base. The parade was attended by all Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of ships, submarines and naval establishments. Atul Kumar Jain has been transferred to New Delhi to assume charge as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi took his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS in New Delhi. PM Mod also appealed to all those who are eligible to get inoculated. Sister P Niveda, from Puducherry, administered Bharat Biotech's COVAXIN to the prime minister, as per sources. “Took my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against Covid-19,” PM Modi tweeted after taking the vaccine shot. “I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India Covid-19 free!” he said. The prime minister also posted a picture of himself taking the first dose of the vaccine in which he is seen sporting a Assamese 'gamocha' and getting inoculated with a smile on his face. For the first time in the history of Manipur, 33 communities in Manipur took a pledge to end poppy cultivation in Imphal on Feb 25.Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh led the leaders and representatives of 33 different communities in taking a collective pledge to work together towards destruction of illegal poppy cultivation and checking illicit drug businesses. The rally was part of the "war on drugs" campaign launched by the Chief Minister. The rally was held under the banner 'All Communities Convention for a Pledge against Illegal Poppy Plantation' was organized at Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre by Meitei Leepun in association with the apex bodies of the 33 communities. Leaders and representatives of Kharam Tribe Union, Purum Tribe Union, Koireng Tribe Union, Thadou Inpi, Manipuri Gorkha Association, Kom Tribe Union, Chiru Tribe Union, Thangal Tribe Union, Maram Union among others took the pledge.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh inaugurated Eco-Tourism Project at Thangmeiband Cheirao Ching in Imphal West District on Feb 25. The Eco-Tourism Project was developed under Ministry of Department of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Non-Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR). Speaking at the occasion, Chief Minister Singh said that the newly launched project will increase leisure activities and attract more tourists to the state. The foundation stone for Cheirao Ching Eco-Tourism Project developed at an estimated cost of around 15 crores rupees was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit in March 2018. The government is planning to install electric cars for old-aged and differently-abled people, who wish to reach the towers located on the hill-top. Tourism Minister Oinam Lukhoi, CAF and PD Minister Thokchom Satyabrata, Deputy Speaker Shri Kongkham Robindro, and Thangmeiband AC MLA Shri Kh. Joykishan, Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, and other high-ranking officials also attended the function among others.
