Our judiciary has always interpreted Constitution positively and creatively to strengthen it further, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Gujarat High Court on February 06.
"Our judiciary has always interpreted Constitution positively and creatively to strengthen it further.
Be it safeguarding the rights of people of the country or when any situation arose where national interest needed to be prioritized, judiciary has always performed its duty," said PM Modi.
On April 28, the Election Commission of India (ECI) directed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to revise the content of its Lok Sabha campaign song to adhere to the Advertising Codes outlined in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994, and ECI guidelines. The AAP was requested to make necessary modifications to the song and resubmit it for certification. “The phrase “jail ke jawaab me hum vote denge” showing an aggressive mob holding the photo of Arvind Kejriwal showing him behind bars, casts aspersions on the Judiciary. Further, the said phrase appears several times in the advertisement which contravenes the provisions of ECI Guidelines and Rule 6(1(g) of Programme and Advertising Codes prescribed under the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994” (DISPLAY) said ECI.
