Ahead of Uttar Pradesh budget for the financial year 2021-2022, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on February 12 informed that the state government will present an E-Budget and ministers are being trained for the E-Cabinet.
"It has been decided that upcoming sessions for State Assembly and Legislative Council will be digitised.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on May 08 said despite being the most populous state of the country, UP is fighting coronavirus effectively. "I inspected integrated COVID Control Center in Bareily. Since last week 2800 active cases have reduced in this zone. It was predicted that UP will see 1 lakh positive cases per day from May 5 but as on May 8 we reported 26,000 cases. It means our COVID strategy and management is successful. From April 30 we're seeing decline in cases and we also started special screening and testing in villages," CM added while addressing a press conference in Bareilly.
UP govt started the first phase of vaccination for 18-44 age group in seven districts. CM Yogi Adityanath launching the programme from Avantibai Hospital in Lucknow. He said people above 18 years are being vaccinated for free with priority in seven districts. These districts include Lucknow, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Bareilly, Kanpur and Meerut. The districts have reported high Covid positivity rates and have high active caseload. At least 85 centres have been dedicated to people above the age of 18 years. So far, over 1.23 crore vaccine doses have been administered to people in the state.

Ahead of fourth phase of vaccination drive which will start from May 01, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed people to join vaccination programme enthusiastically. "The fourth phase of vaccination is going to start from May 1. For this, we are working in a planned way. I request people to join the vaccination campaign," said CM Yogi.
Union Minister Smriti Irani arrived in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi to meet the family members of deceased BJP MLA Dal Bahadur Kori, who died of COVID-19. She hugged his wife and consoled her, at the latter's residence. She is on a visit to her Amethi constituency to assess the ground situation of COVID management.
BJP MLA in Uttar Pradesh's Bairia, Surendra Singh, suggested people to drink 'gaumutra' (cow urine) to defeat COVID-19. While demonstrating on camera, Surendra Singh said that drinking 5 caps of Patanjali's Godhan Ark in a glass of cold water is his everyday morning routine. "I don't know the scientific reason behind it, but it has helped me. I stay amongst people for 18 hours but still I am fine. So I am sending across my experiences, and I want to show that I also drink." Godhan Ark is an ancient Ayurvedic medicine made by extracting the goodness from gomutra or cow urine.
Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee released Trinamool Congress' (TMC) election manifesto ahead of State Assembly polls. The key points of TMC's manifesto were - 5 lakh job opportunities in a year, 'Duare Sarkar' program to be held four months a year and free ration to be provided at doorstep. CM Banerjee called the manifesto, 'development-oriented'. West Bengal Assembly polls will be held on March 27 - May 02 in 8 phases.
Covid lockdown is likely to be extended in Maharashtra for another 15 days until May 15. Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that the state Cabinet has taken an in-principle decision in this regard. "Covid-19 situation seems to have stabilised to some extent in the state. Today, the number (of daily cases) is 60,000-plus, there is some stability. We had earlier predicted that (daily) cases may go beyond 70,000. The issue of extending lockdown was discussed at the state Cabinet meeting. All ministers unanimously said it should be extended to break transmission chain. The lockdown across Maharashtra is likely to be extended by 15 days," He said. The strict curbs on people's movement and other activities are in force since April 14. Essential services have been exempted from the curbs that were to end on April 30.

Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal on April 20 briefed media on the new project approved the Cabinet. He informed that to help India truly become 'AatmaNirbhar', the Cabinet has approved an exclusive subsidy policy for urea produced through coal gasification by Talcher Fertilisers Ltd. He also informed that the Centre has also approved Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase 2A from Central Silk Board Junction to KR Puram and Phase 2B from KR Puram to Airport via Hebbal Junction of total length 58 km. "The total completion cost of the project is ?14,788 crore," added Union Minister Goyal.
