Chhattisgarh will start vaccination drive for 18+ with Antyodaya cardholders, informed Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on April 30. "So far, 7,13,706 people have been infected with COVID19 in the State. More 55 lakh doses of vaccine administered in the state so far. We have decided that we will vaccinate those between 18-44 yrs for free. We will start vaccination with Antyodaya cardholders," said CM Baghel.

Today Chhattisgarh has 27 units that produce Oxygen, 2 are producing Liquid Oxygen." "So 388.88 MT of Oxygen is being produced daily in the state. 160 MT of Oxygen is being consumed in the state daily, the remaining is going to different states. There is no obstruction anywhere," Chhattisgarh CM told to ANI.

After several members of a family died post drinking homeopathy medicine containing 91 percent alcohol, Chhattisgarh government is mulling to restart online delivery of liquor amid the lockdown, like last year. "Liquor shops are closed. Sale and purchase attempts of alcohol are being made from other states. People died in Bilaspur after consuming medicines in absence of alcohol. So our Govt's thinking of implementing online delivery of liquor, like last lockdown," said state's Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma.
Health Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singh Deo on May 08 said the state government will receive 3.50 lakh doses of Covishield today and the further vaccination will go on with this. "We received 1.50 lakh Covaxin doses from Bharat Biotech on May 1 and the vaccination is going on with that. We'll receive 3.50 lakh doses of Covishield today and the vaccination will further go on with this," Deo said media persons.
A week after results of the Assam Assembly elections were announced, the Bharatiya Janata Party finally ended the suspense about who will be the new Chief Minister. Himanta Biswa Sarma, a minister in the outgoing government has been selected for the top post. He will be replacing Sarbananda Sonowal who may be accommodated in the Union Cabinet in the future. Assam's Sonitpur experienced a 6.4 magnitude earthquake on the morning of April 28. The tremors were felt even in Guwahati which is more than 180 km from Sonitpur. A residential building in Beltola town of Guwahati was also impacted by the earthquake. The Lakshmi Apartment has been damaged with several cracks following the earthquake. Fearing their lives, the residents of the apartment building are moving out. The building was later inspected by the officials of police and SDRF (State Disaster Response Force).

During a press conference in Delhi, Foreign Secretary of India, Harsh V Shringla on April 29 said, "We also have a flight coming in from Ireland with 700 concentrators. France's flight will be coming in on Saturday. Over 40 countries, not just developed countries but also our neighbours Mauritius, Bangladesh, Bhutan have all come forward to offer assistance." "We're also expecting tomorrow and over the next couple of days three special flights from the US. President Biden spoke to the PM and offered extensive assistance. We have a cargo flight arriving tonight from UAE with ventilators and carrying Favipiravir medicines," he added.
Bangladesh closed borders with India for 14 days amid surge in COVID-19 cases. "Bangladesh borders have been sealed for two weeks. Although movement of passengers has been restricted, we're considering movement of stranded Bangladeshis particular patients and their attendants.
