'Har Ghar Jal' scheme brings water to Udhampur's Jandrore village

Udhampur's Jandrore village received water supply after years of being deprived, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Har Ghar Jal' scheme, which aims to provide safe and adequate water to all households in rural India through individual household tap connections by 2024.

In this village, women and children used to walk for kilometres to fetch drinking water but with this scheme implemented, the problem has been solved.

Jal Shakti (PHE) department strived hard to establish the water pipelines in the disconnected villages of Jammu and Kashmir.

Scheme was announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget of 2019.
