The counting of votes for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections is currently underway across 16 sub-divisional magistrate offices in Tripura.
The election was contested among 157 candidates including 14 from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 17 from Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura(IPFT ) candidates, 28 from Left Front, 28 from Congress, four from the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Twipra (INPT), 30 from other political parties, and 38 independent candidates.Counting at Birendra Nagar School, Jirinia was seen amid tight security arrangements.
On April 26, the nation will witness the crucial voting phase of the 2024 general elections. Across 13 states, a total of 89 Lok Sabha constituencies will be up for polling. The states participating in this phase include Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jammu & Kashmir. It's a pivotal moment for democracy as citizens exercise their right to vote and shape the future of the nation.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
