Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is ready to supply Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to various part of country including Maharashtra. Empty oxygen tankers rake will reach to Visakhapatnam from Maharashtra for filling LMO. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant officials are making arrangements to build a platform for tankers at the steel plant. A ramp is being fabricated at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to receive the empty tanks. Empty tankers are expected to arrive at the Visakhapatnam on Wednesday early morning.
A wildlife conservationist has captured disturbing scenes of plastic in fishing nets. Srikanth Mannepuri documented a catch in the Indian port city of Visakhapatnam in March 2021. It shows fish trapped within carrier bags and a large amount of plastic wrapping from brands including snickers and head & shoulders shampoo. Srikanth explains: "We all know the curso of plastics. 'Oxygen Express' with tankers of oxygen arrived in Nashik from Visakhapatnam on April 24. The railway has made green corridor for the movement of these special trains. The requirement of oxygen has increased in the country due to prevailing COVID situation.
The first Oxygen Express returned to Maharashtra, four days after it started its journey. The train carried seven tankers filled with liquid medical oxygen from Visakhapatnam. The Oxygen Express arrived at Nagpur at 8.10 pm, bringing some relief to the state. Maharashtra is reeling under a surge in Covid-19 cases & shortages of medical oxygen. Three tankers were unloaded at Nagpur & remaining will be unloaded at Nasik Road station. The flat-wagon goods train departed from Visakhapatnam on Thursday night. The train had left for Visakhapatnam from Kalamboli near Mumbai on April 19, around 8 pm. After more than 50 hours' journey, it reached the destination, passing through many cities. Amid spiralling Covid cases in the country, demand for oxygen has gone through the roof. On Friday, Maharashtra reported over 66,830 fresh cases & 773 Covid-related deaths.
