Double mask prevents COVID infection by 85% to 88%: Haryana's COVID-19 nodal officer

As the country is witnessing exponential surge in COVID-19 cases, Nodal Officer for COVID-19 at Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) Rohtak Dr Dhruv Chaudhary suggested to wear a double mask as it prevents the COVID infection by 85% to 88%.

"The latest research shows that wearing a double mask- a surgical mask and a cloth mask together prevents COVID-19 infection by 85% to 88%.

I urge people to wear a mask to prevent the spread of infection, it is not a fashion statement," said Dr Dhruv Chaudhary.
