urged law enforcement to open an investigation
into Russell Brand over sexual assault allegations.
NBC reports that the British entertainment industry
is under scrutiny for potentially failing to address
the comedian's bad behavior because of his fame.
Brand has denied the allegations of four women whose
claims were highlighted in a television documentary
and 'The Times' and 'Sunday Times' newspapers.
Among the accusers is one unnamed woman
who claims she was sexually assaulted by Brand
while in a relationship with him when she was 16.
Another unnamed woman
claims that Brand raped her
in Los Angeles in 2012.
In response to the allegations,
Brand has stressed that his past
relationships were "always consensual.".
