Vigil held for Nottingham attack victims in city centre
A vigil is being held in memory of 19-year-old students Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber and school caretaker Ian Coates who were killed in Tuesday's knife attack in Nottingham.
It comes as police revealed the suspect is a former student at Nottingham University, with detectives having been granted more time to question him on suspicion of murder.

The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Dr Sanjoy Kumar and Dr Sinead O’Malley, the parents of Grace O’Malley-Kumar, attended the hearing. Speaking outside the Royal Courts of Justice following the decision, Dr Kumar said: "The Attorney General’s case has not been successful. This is disappointing, but not unexpected." The Court of Appeal has refused to change the sentence of Valdo Calocane, who killed three people in Nottingham last summer. Giving their judgment, the Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr said: “There was no error in the approach adopted by the judge. “The sentences imposed were not arguably unduly lenient.” She concluded: “It is impossible to read of the circumstances of this offending without the greatest possible sympathy for the victims of these terrible attacks, and their family and friends." The parents of Grace O’Malley-Kumar have blamed “failings” in the system for a series of stabbing attacks, including a sword attack in Hainault on Tuesday and a school stabbing in Sheffield on Wednesday. Grace’s father, Dr Sanjoy Kumar, said “positive change is so long overdue” after a 14-year-old boy was killed in Hainault and three teenage boys were admitted to hospital in Sheffield following the attacks.

Prince William hosted a garden party at Buckingham Palace on behalf of his father King Charles. The neighbour of a woman who was mauled to death by XL Bully dogs, says she never saw muzzled dogs anywhere on the estate. Aimee Marston said "We've never ever seen an XL Bully. If they were registered, we would have seen muzzled dogs but I've got two ex-racing greyhounds and we walk them all the time and we never ever see muzzled dogs on the estate." The first victims of the infected blood scandal will receive their final compensation payment before the end of the year, minister John Glen has said. In a statement delivered to the House of Commons, Mr Glen said the payments would be exempt from income, capital gains, and inheritance tax.
