Women arrested at Sarah Everard vigil secure payout from Met
Two women who were arrested at a vigil for murder victim Sarah Everard have been paid compensation by the Metropolitan Police.
Patsy Stevenson and Dania Al-Obeid were detained at the event on Clapham Common in March 2021.
The Met was criticised for its heavy handling of the vigil, which took place amid ongoing Covid restrictions.
The London force have acknowledged the pairās motivations for attending the vigil, but added that their officers "acted in good faith.ā Report by Jonesia.

A 14-year-old boy killed in a sword attack as he walked to school has been named as Daniel Anjorin. Tributes have been paid to the teenager who has been described as a "much-loved" pupil and a keen footballer. The horrific attack which took place in Hainault, north-east London on Tuesday morning left four more people injured. A 14-year-old boy has died following multiple stabbings in Hainault, north-east London as a sword-wielding suspect remains in custody after being tasered and arrested on suspicion of murder.
