Anantnag encounter Latest: Indian Army eliminates 1 more terrorist, search on for the rest |Oneindia
In the Anantnag encounter, drones are being used to precisely locate terrorists who have entrenched themselves in the hilly forested terrain of Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district.
The search operation has been in progress for the past four days, with a recent operation conducted in the forest area of Gadole, Kokernag on Saturday.
Security forces have released sketches of three suspected Pakistani terrorists behind the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people, mostly tourists, in South Kashmir's Anantnag. The suspects—Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha—used code names in earlier strikes. The Lashkar-backed group “The Resistance Front” claimed responsibility. Pencil sketches, based on survivor accounts, show young men with sharp features. Global leaders, including President Trump, condemned the attack and extended support to India. PM Modi cut short his Saudi visit and returned for urgent national security meetings.
