The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday successfully launched the TV-D1 test vehicle in its 2nd attempt at 10 am from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota at 10 am today.
The Crew Module of the first developmental flight test of the ISRO's Gaganyaan programme has successfully splashed down in the Bay of Bengal.
This milestone achievement has brought the project one step closer to its goal of sending humans into space.The key highlight of this test flight was the impeccable performance of the Crew Escape System (CES).
The "In-flight Abort Demonstration of Crew Escape System (CES)" took place at Mach number 1.2 with the newly developed Test Vehicle.
This was followed by a Crew Module separation and safe recovery, showcasing the system's effectiveness in ensuring the safety of astronauts in emergency scenarios.
