Paedophile police officer jailed for abusing over 200 girls

A paedophile police officer has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 12 years at Cardiff Crown Court.

Lewis Edwards, 24, groomed more than 200 girls aged between the ages of 10 and 16, whilst he was a serving officer.

The South Wales Police officer incited the young girls to send degrading images and videos of themselves over Snapchat.

He then threatened to tell many of his victims' family and friends unless they sent him increasingly graphic content.

Edwards refused to attend his three-day sentencing hearing and was jailed in his absence.
