The U.N.
General Assembly voted overwhelmingly on December 12 to demand a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza in a strong demonstration of global support for ending the Israel-Hamas war.
The vote also shows the growing isolation of the United States and Israel.
The vote in the 193-member world body was 153 in favour, 10 against and 23 abstentions.
The support was higher than for an Oct.
27 resolution that called for a āhumanitarian truceā leading to a cessation of hostilities, where the vote was 120-14 with 45 abstentions.
India was among the 153 members who voted in favour.
Israeli officials seized AP equipment and have taken down a live shot of northern Gaza accusing the news organisation of violating a new media law by providing images to Al Jazeera.

A spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced that the country's air defence units successfully shot down an American MQ-9 Reaper drone while it was conducting hostile activities over the central province of Bayda. Yahya Saree, in a televised statement on Tuesday, revealed that the unmanned aerial vehicle was targeted with a locally made surface-to-air missile. He added that footage of the shootdown would be released later. According to Saree, this marks the fifth aircraft that Yemeni air defences have downed since the beginning of operations supporting Palestinians in Gaza amid Israel's aggressive campaign.
