Agri-food actors have been summoned to Brussels by the European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen to help forge a new long-term vision for agriculture amid mounting protests from farmers across the continent.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reminded Donald Trump that the EU remains open for a trade deal—but the U.S. President made it clear: China and India come first. Speaking after sealing deals with Beijing and hinting at a "very big" one with India, Trump gave no indication of engaging with Europe anytime soon. The EU, once a top U.S. economic partner, is now seemingly sidelined as Washington pivots eastward.
