The arrest of Hanif Sheikh, a prominent member of the banned organisation Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), marks a significant development for the Delhi Police.
Sheikh had been on the run for 22 years and was declared a proclaimed offender in 2002.
His arrest was facilitated by the diligent efforts of the Delhi Police's Southern Range Special Cell.
