At least 11 people killed as Russian attacks intensify in northeastern Ukraine
Russia launched an offensive in the Kharkiv region late last week, significantly adding to the pressure on Ukraine’s outnumbered and outgunned forces which are waiting for deliveries of weapons and ammunition from Western partners.
In a fiery declaration, U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has vowed to block all future weapons funding for Ukraine over what she calls the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Citing President Zelensky’s crackdown on the nation’s largest Christian denomination, Luna, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, accused Ukraine of violating religious freedoms and warned that the U.S. is "not your piggy bank." Her post comes amid growing criticism in the U.S. of how billions in aid to Ukraine are being used, especially under Trump’s renewed “America First” policy. The issue has gained little attention in U.S. politics, but high-profile voices like Tucker Carlson have echoed similar concerns.
