The King and Queen have laid wreaths at the British Memorial in Normandy following a service to honour D-Day veterans on the 80th anniversary of the military operation.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has launched a scathing attack on French President Emmanuel Macron and German opposition leader Friedrich Merz, accusing them of attempting to revive Europe's imperialist past. Speaking at a diplomatic event, Lavrov warned that Western leaders were reverting to their “former instincts” of conquest and domination, drawing chilling comparisons between today’s political climate and Nazi-era atrocities.
