On July 10, 2025, a missile launched from Yemen by Iran-backed Houthi rebels was intercepted by Israelâs air defense systems. Sirens blared across Jerusalem, central Israel, and parts of the West Bank as civilians rushed to shelters in panic. The IDF confirmed the interception and has since carried out retaliatory airstrikes on Houthi launch sites.
This strike is part of a growing wave of regional escalation, with missile threats now emerging from Gaza, Lebanon, and Yemen. Houthis claim the attack was in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, where over 57,000 have reportedly been killed since the Israeli military campaign began in late 2023. With tensions mounting, the region stands on the brink of a broader war.
