Major incident in Birmingham as '17,000 tonnes' of rubbish piles up
Monday, 31 March 2025 A major incident has been declared in Birmingham over an ongoing bin strike, which has left around 17,000 tonnes of waste on the streets of the city.
Bin workers in Birmingham say they will carry on striking over pay for months, if necessary, as the city council declared a major incident.
