Ahmedabad to lead India’s quantum communication efforts: Isro chief

The city will become the key centre for developing the country’s un-hackable and highly secure quantum communication capabilities — or quantum key distribution (QKD) technology— Isro’s chairman S Somanath said on the sidelines of the inaugural session of the Param Vikram 1000 High Performance Cluster (HPC) computing facility at the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). Isro is aiming at launching the country’s own QKD satellite.
