Thursday, 7 September 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is in Indonesia to attend the ASEAN-India Summit in Jakarta on Thursday said "history and geography unite Bharat and ASEAN". The Prime Minister was speaking at the Jakarta Convention Centre where he also said that that ASEAN is the central pillar of India's Act East Policy. "India supports ASEAN's outlook on ASEAN-India centrality and Indo-pacific," he said.
