Madhya Pradesh okays Rs 10 lakh for lynching victims
The Shivraj Singh Chouhan cabinet in Bhopal has approved a law for compensation for victims of mob lynching. The 'Mob Lynching Victim Compensation Scheme 2023' will provide relief and rehabilitation for victims and their dependents. The family of a victim killed by a mob will receive a compensation of Rs 10 lakh, while those injured will receive Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. The cabinet also approved a housing scheme for those who did not qualify for the PM Awas Yojana.
