A fire upended their lives, then an officer stepped up
Residents of Nandlalpur village in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district have finally received land ownership papers after 33 years of waiting. A fire in 1990 destroyed land records, which prevented access to welfare schemes and affected property transactions. District magistrate Shubhrant Kumar Shukla ordered a land survey, and the findings were used to issue new land ownership papers.
