At Shirdi, PM Modi attacks ex-Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar
Thursday, 26 October 2023 During a visit to Shirdi, PM Narendra Modi indirectly criticized NCP chief Sharad Pawar's past performance as Union agriculture minister, stating that his contribution to improving farmers' plight was ineffective. Modi highlighted that his government had purchased grain worth Rs 13.5 lakh crore from farmers under the MSP, compared to Rs 3.5 lakh crore during Pawar's tenure. He also expressed concern about politicians using farmers for political gains and emphasized his government's dedication to strengthening farmers financially.
