Congress plays different strokes in Rajasthan & Chhattisgarh to continue on the pitch

IndiaTimes Monday, 6 November 2023
The Congress party in India has adopted different strategies in the states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh to secure a repeat term in power. In Rajasthan, the party has decided to retain a majority of its MLAs, trusting that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's appeal and record will help lift the party's chances. Meanwhile, in Chhattisgarh, the party has dropped a significant number of MLAs to counter local anti-incumbency sentiment. Congress believes that by replacing these MLAs, it can dilute the negative sentiment and maintain its position in power.
