Government outlets offer atta at Rs 27.5 a kilo

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 7 November 2023
The Indian government has launched the sale of subsidised wheat flour, or atta, at a price of Rs 27.5 per kg under the brand name 'Bharat Atta'. The atta will be available at 2,000 outlets and 800 mobile vans, providing relief to consumers during the festive season. The government has allocated 2.5 lakh tonnes of wheat to agencies at a subsidised rate, with the condition that the atta made from this wheat is sold at the subsidised price. The initiative follows a successful pilot project earlier this year.
