India successfully test-fires 'Pralay' missile off Odisha coast

India achieved a successful test launch of its surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) called 'Pralay' from the Abdul Kalam Island, located off the coast of Odisha, as confirmed by a Defense official. The missile, developed by the Defense Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has been designed to meet the nation's defense needs along its borders with China and Pakistan. Pralay' is a 350-500 km short-range, surface-to-surface missile with payload capacity of 500-1,000 kg.
