44 held in NIA crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi migrants
Thursday, 9 November 2023 The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted pan-India raids in 10 states to crack down on human trafficking networks involved in the infiltration of illegal migrants from Bangladesh, including Rohingya, into Indian territory. A total of 44 individuals were arrested, with Tripura accounting for nearly 50% of the arrests. The raids aimed to dismantle the entire ecosystem of the illegal human trafficking support networks. The NIA has taken over the case.
