Centre should release Rs 621 crore under NHM, 'mohalla clinic' a state initiative: Punjab health minister
Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh has requested the central government to release Rs 621 crore in National Health Mission funds to the state, as it has not received any grants since December 2022. The central government denies withholding funds, stating that the Punjab government is converting their Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWC) into 'mohalla clinics'. Singh argues that the 'Aam Aadmi Clinics' are a state government initiative and not part of the central scheme.
