Friday, 22 December 2023 The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken action by attaching properties worth Rs 12 crore belonging to Sujit Patker, a close associate of Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut, and others. This move is part of a money laundering case related to two jumbo Covid facilities established during the pandemic in Dahisar and Worli. The ED has accused Patker and his partners of operating the Covid centers with inadequate staff while allegedly raising fake invoices in collusion with BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) staffers.

have seen their first increase in ranks, changing course
on a historic exodus of officers in recent years.
According to a recent survey,

enforcement officers resigned or retired in 2023. .

many police departments with a shortage of

At least a dozen smaller police departments in
the nation have been forced to disband, leaving those
municipalities reliant upon state or county police forces.
