Swachh Survekshan rankings 2023: These are the 10 dirtiest Indian cities

The recently released annual cleanliness survey, 'Swachh Survekshan', revealed that Howrah in West Bengal is the dirtiest city in India. All of the 10 dirtiest cities with a population of over 1 lakh are from West Bengal. Other dirtiest cities include Kalyani, Madhyagram, Krishnanagar, Asansol, Rishra, Bidhannagar, Kanchrapara, Kolkata, and Bhatpara. The survey evaluated cities based on their cleanliness and sanitation practices and received over 12 crore citizen responses, making it the largest cleanliness survey in the world.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1. Shazib is accused of placing the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe. Additionally, Abdul Matheen Taha is implicated as a co-conspirator in the incident.
