At Ayodhya temple, 'Surya Tilak' for Lord Ram on every Ram Navami
Wednesday, 17 January 2024 On every Ram Navami, an elaborate system of lenses and mirrors will direct a sunbeam into the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, converging it on the forehead of Ram Lalla as the "Surya Tilak." This occurrence on the ninth day of the Chaitra month commemorates Lord Ram's birth. Crafted by scientists at the CSIR-Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), the "Surya Tilak" system will precisely focus the ray on the idol's forehead for approximately six minutes, starting from noon.
