Air passenger traffic in India expected to reach 300 million by 2030: Jyotiraditya Scindia
Thursday, 18 January 2024 The number of domestic air passengers in India is expected to surge to 300 million annually by 2030 from 153 million in 2023 and the country still would have a vast untapped market, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Thursday. ββHe said the number of airports and waterdromes will increase to over 200 from the existing 149 in the country. With 300 million passengers a year in 2030, India's aviation penetration would be at 10-15 per cent and still be a potential market in the decades to come.
The BJP has announced the nominations for the Lok Sabha elections, with former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan nominated from Vidisha and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia set to contest the Guna seat. The 53-year-old leader is among the 195 Lok Sabha election candidates announced by the BJP at its presser on Saturday. The first list includes several bigwigs including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and defence minister Rajnath Singh.
