Monday, 20 January 2025 Alert Army troops in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district detected and successfully defused a ready-to-use Improvised Explosive Device (IED) during an intensified security operation ahead of Republic Day celebrations. The IED was found concealed in Dalan village and a subsequent search operation was launched to track those responsible.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released graphic and unfiltered footage of the dramatic hijack of the Jaffar Express, dubbed Operation Darra-e-Bolan, carried out on March 11. Armed with rocket launchers and IEDs, BLA insurgents sabotaged train tracks and ambushed the train inside a tunnel, capturing over 300 Pakistan military personnel. While women and children were released, the BLA used the platform to issue a rallying cry for resistance, denouncing Pakistan’s alleged extrajudicial killings and accusing the UN of ignoring what they call a Baloch genocide. Pakistan's military claims to have rescued 354 hostages and killed 33 militants, while the BLA asserts higher enemy casualties and continued resistance.
