Inconclusive tests deepen GBS mystery, Pune tally rises to 130

Laboratory tests of water samples in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad found no presence of Campylobacter jejuni, the bacterium linked to the Guillain-Barre Syndrome outbreak affecting over 130 patients. Researchers at NIV are now focusing on genetically characterising the bacterium to understand its virulence and role in the outbreak.
