700 poultry livestock culled in Ranchi to prevent H5N1 spread

Animal husbandry officials in Ranchi, alongside BAU's livestock department, culled nearly 700 birds after dead samples tested positive for avian influenza. A seven-foot deep ditch, treated with limestone powder, was used for disposal. Sale of poultry items is banned within a 1-km radius of BAU campus for three weeks. The outbreak is currently localized.
