Samajwadi leader Abu Azmi says Aurangzeb 'not a cruel leader'; Eknath Shinde hits back with treason charge
Monday, 3 March 2025 A controversy has erupted in Maharashtra after SP leader Abu Azmi defended Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, stating he was not cruel and built many temples. Maharashtra deputy CM Eknath Shinde condemned the statement, calling it an insult to Maharashtra's legacy and demanding an apology. He also said Azmi should be charged with treason.
Rahul Gandhi has once again resorted to Election Fraud Claims to cast doubt on India's electoral system. From raising questions on EVMs to now alleging "match-fixing" in Maharashtra, his narrative of Election Fraud Claims has no evidence. Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Shinde, and JP Nadda have all slammed these Election Fraud Claims, calling them an insult to the people’s verdict. The Election Commission, too, has dismissed these charges as unfounded and misleading. Repeating Election Fraud Claims after every defeat weakens democracy and insults honest voters. It's time to reject fake narratives and trust the electoral process.

Seventeen years after the deadly 2008 Malegaon blast rocked Maharashtra, a special NIA court in Mumbai has acquitted all seven accused — including BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur and Lt Col Prasad Purohit — citing lack of concrete evidence. The judgment came just one day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah told the Rajya Sabha that "no Hindu can ever be a terrorist." The court emphasized that terrorism has no religion and that justice cannot be based on public perception or moral bias. This landmark verdict reignites debates on communal narratives, judicial process, and political influence in terror trials.
