16 arrested in Assam for making 'seditious comments' on Pahalgam attack

Assam police arrested sixteen individuals for alleged seditious comments following the Pahalgam terror attack. Among those arrested is AIUDF MLA, Aminul Islam. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma indicated the possible use of the National Security Act. Sarma condemned Pakistani politician Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s anti-India statements. India suspended the Indus Water Treaty of 1960, citing Pakistan's support for cross-border terrorism.
