Mamata Banerjee's new OBC list also hits high court hurdle

IndiaTimes Tuesday, 17 June 2025
The Calcutta High Court has temporarily suspended the West Bengal government's revised OBC list, which included 140 sub-groups, citing procedural irregularities under the West Bengal Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1993. This decision halts the implementation of the new list and related orders until July 31, pending a Supreme Court hearing.
