India's National Institute of Virology (NIV) reports the presence of the Clade 9 variant of the chickenpox-causing varicella-zoster virus (VZV). While not causing increased severity, vigilance is advised. Symptoms include rash, fever, and fatigue. Vaccination remains the most effective prevention method alongside good hygiene practices.
