Vaccine that offers protection against three deadly coronavirus types has shown promise in mouse trials

IndiaTimes Saturday, 21 October 2023
A vaccine developed by researchers at Duke Human Vaccine Institute has shown success in animal studies, protecting against three fatal coronaviruses. The nanoparticle vaccine, which contains components from a prior vaccine that protected against SARS-CoV-2, was found to protect mice from SARS-CoV-1 and MERS coronavirus. The researchers are making progress towards a broadly protective coronavirus vaccine and plan to conduct human tests next year. The development of universal coronavirus vaccines is a global health priority.
