Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa met Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu in Delhi. Yediyurappa met Naidu on Sep 19 before returning to Bengaluru. While talking to media persons, BS Yediyurappa said that he is expecting cabinet expansion before Karnataka Assembly session.
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa laid the foundation stone for new building of the Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi. Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and DV Sadananda Gowda were also present at the event. They also performed 'puja' for construction work of Cauvery Karnataka Bhavan.

Members of Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) staged protest in Bengaluru against amendments to labour laws. Earlier, while talking on the amendments, Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar said, "Yesterday, three-bills passed (in Rajya Sabha) which gives salary security, public security and health security to labours. By these bolls labours will get minimum wage, appointment letter, salary in a fixed time, same salary for men and women, free checkups and one-time allowance for migrant labour in one year. New code also included the inclusion of new labours." He also slammed opposition for staying absent from Rajya Sabha while labour reforms bills were discussed. The Rajya Sabha on September 23 passed three Labour Code Bills for the welfare and protection of the workers. These bills were already passed in Lok Sabha on Tuesday (September 22).
While speaking to media in Bengaluru on September 21, Karnataka Congress president and Congress leader DK Shivakumar spoke on Karnataka Assembly session. He said, "1,600 questions put before the Karnataka Assembly by our members. There are a lot of issues to be discussed and among them are issues of corruption, failure in handling COVID-19, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and rain causing havoc." "We want to extend the Assembly session by a week/for next 1 more week," DK Shivakumar added.
Karnataka Congress state president DK Shivakumar tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. The senior Congress leader has been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru. Shivakumar has been touring the state extensively to assess damages due to floods. The touring was also aimed at strengthen the party's district units. Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah had tested positive for coronavirus. Yediyurappa and Siddaramaiah have been discharged after being cured. Five ministers from the southern state have also tested positive for Covid-19. India's Covid-19 infection tally jumped to over 3,167,320 on Tuesday. India recorded more than 60,970 fresh infections in the last 24 hours. There are around 704,340 active cases, a decline of 6,423 from Monday. Over 58,385 people have succumbed to the disease till date.
