Driver survives after skidding on wet road being flung through door window
A driver miraculously survived after skidding on a wet road and hitting a lamppost before being flung out of the window.
The man was driving his black pickup truck after heavy rain when he tried to overtake a motorcycle rider in Phuket island, southern Thailand.
However, the vehicle skidded out of control and slammed into a metal post, causing it to rotate several times.
The driver was flung through the door window but survived, with only his arm and upper body leaning out of the vehicle.
Passersby tended to the injured man who transferred to hospital.
CCTV footage from a nearby shop captured the shocking accident.
Resident Apichet Thongkhiew said: "There are car accidents around this area so often, I just hope that motorists have more awareness while driving on the road." The shaken driver was seen emerging from the vehicle and taken to hospital where he has been recovering since the smash.
